SUBTOPIA: The Story of Hueco Canyon

A feature-length mockumenatary chronicling the violent unravelling of a suburban community.

After the unexpected death of Gillian Svoboda, Hueco Canyon is thrown into chaos under the leadership of new HOA president Ellen Nickel, whose heavy-handed policies stir unrest. Wally Kaplan, a mild-mannered resident, becomes an unlikely rebel, leading a one-man revolt that includes clown suits, magic markers and hotdog diplomacy.

Through its blend of drama and absurdity, the film utilizes interviews, archival materials, and cinematic recreations to explore freedom, security, and the quirks of suburban life.
